巨人開幕2連敗

巨人が3月28日、29日とヤクルトに連敗した。
クライシンガーとラミレスを取られて、絶対負けないぞと思っているヤクルトに勝てなかったという論調を好む文章のニュースが多い。
そんななか、有名紙でとてもいただけない記事があった。
守りのミスのせいで二夜連続で負けたというニュースを無理やり書きたい記事が見られた。
内容はこうだ。

7回無死満塁で、ラミレスがファールフライをグラブにあてながら落とした。
本人はタッチアップを恐れての故意落球としているが、直後の2球目を勝ち越し2点適時打された。

ここの、「〜故意落球としているが、直後の〜」のところが意味不明。
国語ができないのか、野球を知らないのか。
このシーンは間違いなくファールフライを取るべきではない。
終盤に入って同点ならば、0点に抑えられる可能性があるかぎりはタッチアップによる失点を避けるのが定石である。
ましてやラミレスの肩なら絶対に取ってはならない。
つまりラミレスは正しいことをやっただけだ。
なんら非難されることはない。
それを次の球で逆転されたと書くのは結果論以外の何物でもない
ひどい。
それをこういう記事にしてしまうのは、打線重視の巨人が守りのミスで2日続けて負けたという記事にしたいからだとしか思えない。

この記事を書いた人は無記名でもなくイニシャルだけでもなく、フルネームまで記事の末尾に書いてある。
つまり比較的高い地位にある人がこんなことを書いているということだ。
こんなことでこの新聞社はいいのだろうか。
もっと国語力のある人、野球の知識がある人、主観的でなく客観的な文章を書ける人、大衆受けするかしかしないかだけを考えるのでなく事実を伝えるニュースを書ける人、そういう人を起用してもらいたい。
ワイドショーの程度の低いコメンテーターとは違うのだから。

今日のOPMカラオケはカラオケの鉄人桜木町店に行った。
ここはUGA、JOY、DAM、孫悟空、Lavcacの5機種が歌えるのが売りで、ここでなければもう日本では歌えないと思えという感じのところだ。

がしかし

落とし穴があった。
どうもHyper Joy全部の曲が入っていないようだ
これは店舗に依存するのかもしれないけど、とにかく全部入っていないというのはいただけない
しかもHyper Joyは一番OPMが入っている機種なのだ。
それが全部入っていないというのはとても困る。
話にならない。

出揃いました今年のMYX Music Awards 2008。
端的に言って、男はSponge Cola、女はSarah Geronimoの1人勝ちという感じ。
それから新人賞にSam Concepcion。
Callalilyは入ってなかったな、すごく残念。。。

Sarah GeronimoはIkawが大ヒットしたからわかるんだけど、Sponge Colaはどうしてなんだろう？
2007年はCallalily一色といっても過言ではなかったと思うんだけどな。

これはつまり村上春樹のノルウェイの森のこと。
英訳版を読んでみた
やっぱり変わらずいい。
けれど、この訳はこれでいいのかなあ、違うんじゃないかなあというところはあるね、どうしても。
意味はあってるんだけど、すべての日本語のニュアンスがちゃんと出てないんだよね。
たとえば↑の「やっぱり変わらずいい」の「やっぱり」を訳すのは難しいからね。
日本語nativeには正確かつ自然な英語が出てこないし、英語nativeには↑で使われてる「やっぱり」の意味が正確につかめないんだよね。
そのあたりは仕方のないことだと思う…

鎌倉パスタ (ヨドバシ横浜店)

★★★★☆

横浜のヨドバシカメラの地下にある鎌倉パスタ。
茄子とエリンギの鰹節風味の和風パスタ(税込価格1029円)を食べたんだけど、けっこうおいしかった。
あんまり楽しくない人たちといったのにもかかわらず。
それにしても、日本のレストランは高いなあと思わされる。
なんでパスタなんかに1000円も払わないといけないんだろう？って思うけど、こんな金銭感覚のままだと日本では生きていけないな。。
早く元に戻らないと。。

Joke in フィリピン

One of the most memorable case studies on Japanese management was the case
of the empty soapbox, which happened in one of Japan 's biggest cosmetics
companies. The company received a complaint that a consumer had bought a
soapbox that was empty.

Immediately the authorities isolated the problem to the assembly! Line,
which transported all the packaged boxes of soap to the delivery
department. For some reason, one soapbox went through the assembly line
empty. Management asked its engineers to solve the problem.

Post-haste, the engineers worked hard to devise an X-ray machine with
high-resolution monitors manned by two people to watch all the soapboxes
that passed through the line to make sure they were not empty. No doubt,
they worked hard and they worked fast but they spent a whoopee amount to
do so.

But when a rank-and-file employee in a small company was posed with the
same problem, he did not get into complications of X-rays, etc., but
instead came out with another solution.
He bought a strong industrial electric fan and pointed it at the assembly
line. He switched the fan on, and as each soapbox passed the fan, it simply blew
the empty boxes out of the line.

Moral

Always look for simple solutions.

Devise the simplest possible solution that solves the problems.

Always Focus on solutions & not on problems.

日本人って、こういうイメージなんだよね、外国では。
ほかにも働きすぎとか、英語ができないとか、いろいろあるけど。。

この間フィリピン人とチャットしてたときも、日本人だって言っても信じないから、どうして？って聞いたら、だって日本人はいつも働いてるはずだからチャットしてる時間なんてないはずだって
それに、日本人だったらそんなにすらすら英語でチャットできるわけないでしょ？って言われたよ
ははは

まあ、どっちも冗談なんだけどね。
また一方で、日本人は、そういう冗談が通じなくて、すぐかっとなるとも思われている、実は。
↑を読んでムカっとしてしまった人は、外国人の日本人像どおりってことかな

今日はほんとはUrbandubのGuillotineを歌いたかったんだけど、登録されてなかった
すごく残念…

Urbandubの2007年11月に出されたシングル。
アルバムUnder Southern Lightsの4曲目にも入っているが、アルバムよりも先にシングルが出ているのはフィリピンではめずらしく日本的。
一見EMOにも聞こえるが、そういうわけではないらしい。
とにかくなかなかいい曲。
OPMの英語曲にしてはなかなか早口な英語。
それがまたEMOかなって思わせられるんだけど。

"She's with someone new"という歌詞のところはメロディーもなかなかよくて、印象的。

フィリピンで反アロヨ集会

2月28日にアロヨ大統領反対派の人たちが集まって集会を開いたというニュースがあった。
中心には不正蓄財の罪で終身判決を受けたがアロヨ大統領により恩赦を受けたエストラダ前大統領がいたそう。
アロヨにとってみれば、戦国時代で滅ぼした敵の嫡子を、情けで生かしておいたら成人後に力をつけて逆に滅ぼされたような気分だろう。

それはともかく。
記事の中にこういう一文があった。

「汚職疑惑には慣れっこの比国民も額の大きさに驚いた」

こういう文章を公の新聞で書いてしまっていいんだろうか？
ちなみにこれはインターネット記事ではない。
名前は明記しないが、有名新聞だ。
汚職疑惑に慣れっこというのはかぎりなく主観に近い視点である。
さらに慣れっこという言葉は新聞に適切なんだろうか？
そんなことを読んでいて思った。
